What is the CDCP?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal program that helps cover the cost of dental care for Canadians without private dental insurance. Millions of Canadians — seniors, families, children, and persons with disabilities — are already covered.
You may be eligible if you:
- Are a Canadian resident for tax purposes
- Filed your tax return for the previous year
- Have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000
- Don't have access to dental insurance through work, a family member's plan, or a pension
What the CDCP can cover
- Dental exams and X-rays
- Teeth cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants
- Fillings and root canal treatment
- Gum care and deep cleaning
- Tooth extractions, including wisdom teeth
- Denture services
- Certain crowns and major restorative services (with preauthorization)
Depending on your income level, some treatments may involve a co-payment. We always confirm your coverage and give you exact numbers before treatment begins — no surprises.
