Your sedation options
- Nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) — breathed through a soft nose mask, it produces calm and lightness within minutes and clears just as fast. You can drive yourself home. Great for mild anxiety and for children.
- Oral sedation — a prescribed tablet taken before your visit leaves you deeply relaxed and drowsy. You'll need someone to drive you, and many patients remember little of the appointment.
- IV moderate sedation — administered and monitored by Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud, IV sedation provides profound relaxation with rapid adjustment as needed. Ideal for surgical procedures and severe anxiety.
Who benefits from sedation
- Patients with dental anxiety or past traumatic experiences
- Anyone needing long or complex treatment — get more done in fewer visits
- People with a strong gag reflex or difficulty getting numb
- Patients with special needs who find dental visits overwhelming
Sleep apnea & snoring appliances
Sleep dentistry at Spinel also means helping you sleep. For patients with snoring or diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea who can't tolerate a CPAP machine, we provide custom oral sleep appliances that gently reposition the lower jaw to keep the airway open — small, silent, and travel-friendly. We work alongside your physician's sleep study diagnosis.
